Excerpt:

The National Inventors Hall of Fame™ honors the women and men responsible for the great technological advances that make human, social and economic progress possible.

Each year, the Selection Committee of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation selects inventors for induction. These are selected from a field of people nominated by peers and the public. The Selection Committee includes representatives from the leading national scientific and technical organizations.

Annotation:

The National Inventors Hall of Fame celebrates the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of great inventors. The creative genius of invention is showcased through exhibits and presentations that allow visitors to experience the excitement of discovery, creativity, and imagination. Each of the hundreds of inductees has a brief biography within the site, and many include audio clips. The site also provides an index of notable inventions, a chronology of inventions, information about the museum and criteria for inductions. A useful search engine compliments the site. The physical museum is located in Akron, Ohio.
