Essays on the Wright Brothers (aviation), Watson and Crick (genetics), Tim Berners-Lee (the World Wide Web) and many others in between are designed for a mainstream audience, though should prove useful as background information for scholars. The articles were written by established scholars (Peter Gay wrote about Sigmund Freud for instance while Donald Johanson wrote about the Leakey family).
