For historians of science, technology, and industry, Echo offers workshops and consultancies covering the best practices and best technologies for doing digital history. In addition, our book Digital History: A Guide to Gathering, Presenting, and Preserving the Past on the Web is available on this site as well as in hardcopy from the University of Pennsylvania Press.
For historians' subjects—those who have participated in the world of science, technology, medicine, engineering, and industry—Echo hopes to become the destination for recording the personal experiences that make history come alive. Through easy-to-use Web-based forms, these historical participants—whether they are scientists, technologists, or those whose lives have been touched by science and technology—can contribute their recollections to those of their colleagues and associates, while, in the process, forging a more complete historical record.
